This morning as J. got up to go to work, he noticed a strange shape at the other end of the dock.
A dog? No. What is that?
So, J. walked down to investigate. That's a sea lion. She normally visits us about this time of the year, but always stays out at the breakwater. We've never seen her visit one of the docks before - although occasionally we'll have a seal use a vacant dock. Slowly J. sneaked up on her ... until her nostrils flared, then backed off enough to snap a picture with his cell phone. The quality is not the best, but here we go.
Later on, L. and the kids went out to take a look and some pictures, too. They mentioned that the sea lion ... stunk!
